Gump’s Made in the Shade Event

Gump’s, a supporter of the arts, hosted a fundraiser to benefit the California College of the Arts in the form of a scholarship.  All kinds of talent were asked to get involved by making their own masterpiece.  From interior designers and furniture makers to Bay Bridge architect Donald MacDonald and even actress Ali MacGraw.  About 20 of the artistic lampshades were chosen to walk the runway at the public auction.  Others were displayed in the windows of Gump’s for a silent auction.  Ten other items were auctioned off at the Hollywood charity fundraising website www.clothesoffyourback.org.

We were elated to be a part of this worthy cause and the designers here at Kyle Bunting had a great time with this project.

Western Interiors & Design magazine wrote an editorial feature about Kyle Bunting in their August issue.  They photographed an array of some of our rug patterns in Greens.  The copy declares that Kyle Bunting’s innovative no-stitch cowhide rugs are “scene-stealing,” a product “like you’ve never seen before.”  A closer view of the page can be seen here in our Press slideshow.
